Overview of the Role
The Head of Finance and Corporate Services will oversee the school’s financial operations, human resources, and general administration. This pivotal role involves working collaboratively with the Principal and Senior Leadership Team to develop strategic plans that align the school’s resources and organisational structure with its financial goals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong ability to manage budgets effectively and ensure that the school operates efficiently and sustainably.
- Manage, develop and implement a financial strategy to strengthen the financial performance and ensure the long-term viability of the college
- Oversee the formulation of financial targets and budgets
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the finance team
- Alongside the Estates Manager, strategically manage the school’s estate, including maintenance, security, and capital projects, to create a safe and conducive learning environment.
- Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and performance management systems to support staff development and operational excellence.
- Undertake discussions and negotiations with external funding agencies and service providers
- Provide strategic advice on governance, procurement, and regulatory compliance, ensuring the school meets all statutory obligations.
The Person
- Membership in a recognised accounting body (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent
- 5 years post qualification experience
- Previous experience within a relevant sector e.g. professional services, banking, public sector, regulatory environment or third sector
- Proven experience in managing corporate services such as HR, procurement, facilities management is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders
