Group Accountant

A well-established, highly regarded multi-site organisation is seeking a Group Accountant to join its Head Office finance team in Antrim. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute, fully qualified accountant to take on a key role within group financial reporting while supporting the continued expansion of a dynamic, private equity-backed business. Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, the Group Accountant will assume responsibility for the monthly group reporting cycle and play a central role in strengthening financial controls, compliance, and reporting processes across the organisation.

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and delivery of accurate monthly group management accounts within agreed deadlines.

  • Ensure the integrity, completeness, and accuracy of financial transactions across the group.

  • Prepare detailed supporting schedules and analysis for consolidated management reporting packs.

  • Oversee statutory and regulatory reporting requirements, including VAT, Corporation Tax, and Intrastat submissions.

  • Support the year-end audit process and act as a primary liaison for external auditors.

  • Review and enhance financial controls, processes, and governance frameworks.

  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all financial returns to external stakeholders.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.

Candidate Profile

  • Fully qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

  • Proven experience in group accounting and commercial finance environments.

  • Advanced Excel capability and strong analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Highly organised, capable of managing competing priorities and meeting tight reporting deadlines.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.

  • Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team.
