Description

An established energy business is seeking an experienced professional to support the expansion of its forward trading function. The role will contribute to the development of in-house gas shipping and trading capabilities, supporting continued growth across commercial gas markets on the island of Ireland.

The position will focus on optimising physical gas positions, supporting prompt and forward trading activity, and engaging with a range of supply-side counterparties. This is an opportunity to play a key role in building new capabilities within a growing trading environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the setup and operation of an in-house gas shipping function

• Manage relationships with network operators, exchanges, and counterparties

• Assist with physical gas trading and capacity optimisation

• Support prompt trading, hedging activities, and risk management

• Contribute to operational processes, reporting, and controls

Experience & Skills

• Significant experience in gas trading and/or shipping

• Strong understanding of physical gas markets and capacity management

• Familiarity with Irish, UK, or European gas markets preferred

• Commercial mindset with strong analytical capabilities
