Financial Controller (3 day week)
Artemis Human Capital is delighted to be working exclusively with a well-established, highly regarded consultancy business with operations across the UK and Ireland. With an impressive client base and a clear growth trajectory, they’re now seeking a commercially focused Financial Controller to initially join them on a part-time basis to lead the finance function and support the business through its next exciting phase of development.
This is a brilliant opportunity for an ambitious finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You’ll work closely with the senior leadership team, influencing strategic decisions, shaping financial direction, and helping to drive performance across the wider business.
Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of the finance function, reporting into the leadership team
- Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts with clear, actionable insights
- Lead on budgeting and forecasting, helping to shape financial plans and priorities
- Monitor performance through variance analysis and help course-correct as needed
- Implement and enhance internal financial controls
- Prepare board reports and communicate financial updates across the business
- Build and maintain KPIs and dashboards to support strategic decision-making
- Identify and drive improvements across systems, processes, and reporting
- Present financial results in a clear and commercial manner to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
Experience:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience
- A strong background in a similar, hands-on finance role—ideally within a growing SME
- Strong systems knowledge and an interest in process improvement
- Commercially astute, with the ability to turn numbers into meaningful business insight
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A proven people leader who can support, develop, and motivate a small team
