Financial Accountant – German Speaking

A growing and well-established business based in Belfast is seeking a German-speaking Financial Accountant to support its expanding international operations. This role sits firmly within the financial accounting function and will suit someone with a strong grounding in statutory reporting and audit.

Fluent/ very strong German is essential, as the role involves regular interaction with German-speaking stakeholders and entities.

Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will be responsible for the accurate preparation of financial accounts and supporting statutory and audit requirements for designated entities.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of monthly and annual financial accounts

• Production of statutory accounts in line with local accounting standards

• Supporting external audits, including preparation of audit files and responding to queries

• Balance sheet ownership and reconciliations

• Ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and reporting requirements

• Liaising with external auditors and advisors, including German-speaking counterparts

• Supporting group reporting and consolidation processes

• Assisting with accounting policies and technical accounting matters

• Supporting improvements in financial controls and processes

The Person:

• Strong German language skills (spoken and written) – essential

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or part-qualified

• Proven experience in financial accounting, statutory accounts, or audit

• Strong technical accounting knowledge

• High attention to detail and strong documentation skills

• Confident communication skills across international stakeholders
