Credit Risk & Billing Specialist

Artemis Human Capital is proud to be working in partnership with this leading NI owned company, to hire an experienced Credit Risk professional to join their Credit Control team.

This role is suited to an experienced Credit Control professional with good experience of working in Credit Risk, dealing with Credit Insurance and analysing customer risk; who is keen to progress their career in a dynamic setting.

The role

Working as part of the wider Credit Control team, your role will be to assist with the day to day management of customer portfolio, risk, and billing integrity.

Credit Risk

  • Manage the setup of new customer accounts – to include robust due diligence process in a timely manner.
  • New brand owner onboarding process.
  • Credit Risk monitoring – proactive reviews of current customer accounts ensuring orders aren’t blocked in the system unnecessarily.
  • Reading and reporting on credit checks for customers
  • Managing credit limits across the ledgers, ensuring data is kept up to date & limits are removed if no longer trading – limiting risk.
  • Working with credit insurers, understanding the SHS policy and reporting activity as required.
  • Contacting customers through all relevant means.
  • Bad debt prevention – Monitoring high risk customers & escalating as required.
  • Collaborative working with various departments to ensure queries are actioned as per SLA’s.
  • Work closely with Credit Risk & Billing Team Lead and Manager to improve on all processes in place, ensuring they are still fit for purpose & efficient.

Billing 

  • Assist billing team in all manual & ad hoc billing, ensuring they are completed accurately and on time for each month end close off.
  • Proactively deal with all queries that arise, escalating where appropriate.

The person:

  • 3 years’ current experience in a credit risk role
  • Proven experience of working with credit insurers
  • Experience of credit checking & understanding of customer’s financials
  • Excellent track record of working in a fast moving and complex environment
  • Proven ability to problem-solve
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Communicate with people at all levels both internally and externally
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment
  • Membership or working towards Institute of Credit Management qualification (desirable)
