Accounting Technician
Artemis are working in exclusive partnership with this leading NI based business to hire an experienced Accounting Technician
Working as part of a collaborative Accounting function, you’ll provide day-to-day support to the Management Accounting team, taking ownership of a broad range of accounting responsibilities that contribute to the smooth running of the finance department.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant or Accounting Technician who enjoys variety and wants to be part of a busy, commercially focused finance team.
This role offers genuine exposure across the accounting cycle, making it ideal for someone who enjoys being involved in the detail while supporting accurate and timely financial reporting.

The Role
Reporting into the accounting team, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns, ensuring compliance with current legislation and internal deadlines.
- Completing daily, weekly and monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts, investigating and resolving reconciling items.
- Preparing and posting journals, including accruals, prepayments and other month-end adjustments.
- Processing and reconciling company credit card transactions, ensuring appropriate documentation and coding.
- Assisting with month-end close activities, helping to ensure reporting deadlines are achieved.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the integrity of accounting data.
- Working closely with the wider finance team to support continuous improvement of financial processes and controls.
- Providing general accounting support to three Accountants across a variety of financial and reporting activities.

The Person
We’re keen to speak with candidates who have:
- Around five years’ current experience in an Accounts Assistant, Accounting Technician or similar finance role.
- A solid understanding of core accounting principles and month-end processes.
- Previous experience preparing VAT returns and bank reconciliations.
- Experience posting journals and assisting with financial reporting.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent levels of accuracy.
- Good Excel skills and confidence working with accounting systems.
- The ability to manage priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced finance environment.
- A proactive approach and willingness to support colleagues across the finance function.
