Solicitor / Legal Consultant – Part-Time (6-Month FTC) Belfast

6-Month Fixed Term Contract

A well-established, privately owned construction group with operations across the UK and Ireland is seeking to appoint a Solicitor / Consultant on a part-time, interim basis.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced legal professional to work in-house alongside senior leadership, supporting the business on a range of commercial and litigation matters, particularly in relation to joint ventures, board governance, and dispute management.

What You’ll Do

In this highly strategic and hands-on role, you will work closely with senior stakeholders, including the Chairman and the wider legal team. Your remit will span:

• Advising on ongoing litigation and shareholder disputes
• Providing legal insight on corporate governance and company secretarial issues
• Coordinating and managing external legal counsel, consultants, and accountants
• Drafting and reviewing key legal documents, correspondence, and board materials
• Supporting the business in preparation for court proceedings or contentious matters
• Ensuring compliance with corporate and legal obligations across joint venture operations

Criteria:

• Qualified Solicitor with 10+ years PQE, with strong litigation experience
• Sound understanding of commercial law and corporate governance
• Familiarity with company secretarial or corporate law procedures
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
• Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
• Commercial acumen and ability to advise senior management
• Experience with shareholder agreements or minority rights disputes
• Exposure to land or property law
• Experience supporting or advising company Boards
• Prior involvement in drafting commercial contracts and advising on corporate transactions
