Financial Controller (Contract)

We are working exclusively with an innovative and expanding energy group. This group encompasses 10+ entities with robust cash flows, a healthy balance sheets, and ambitious expansion plans. This is an exceptional chance to join the core finance team at a crucial point in their journey.

As Financial Controller, you’ll report directly to the CFO and take full responsibility for management accounting, group cash flow forecasting, and financial reporting. This is a hands-on, high-profile role that offers diverse exposure—perfect for someone eager to join a commercially dynamic business with strong growth potential.

This position is initially offered as a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension.

Benefits:

• £50k – £65k, depending on experience

• Hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 days remote)

Key Responsibilities:

• Management Accounting:
  Produce monthly P&Ls, balance sheets, and variance analysis across 15 entities. Develop group-wide reporting templates to drive consistency and efficiency.

• Cash Flow Forecasting:
  Build detailed Excel-based cash flow models to monitor liquidity for operational and development projects. Manage cash pooling for the group.

• Financial Reporting & Board Packs:
  Lead quarterly reporting cycles, delivering accurate insights on cash, obligations, and dividend capacity. Collaborate with external auditors to ensure compliance.

• Process Improvement & Controls:
  Drive automation and data integrity initiatives in Excel. Create scalable processes to support future growth.

• CFO Support:
  Provide analysis on development pipelines, M&A opportunities, and cost optimization initiatives.

What We’re Looking For:

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified

• Advanced Excel skills; financial modelling experience is a plus

• Confident presenting at board level
