Key Responsibilities

As a Tax Specialist, you will:

  • Support tax reporting during half-year and year-end financial audits.
  • Assist in preparing tax compliance, focusing on Corporation Tax, RCT, and VAT.
  • Address and resolve technical tax issues, involving specialists for complex analyses.
  • Interpret legislative changes and their impact on the business.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal teams to ensure effective communication about legislative updates.
  • Provide ad hoc consultancy to business units on VAT, corporation tax, stamp duty, RCT, and payroll tax matters.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Review and strengthen tax controls and compliance procedures.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) qualification.
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA).
  • Experience in the construction sector (advantageous).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Solver (preferred).
  • Interest in tax technology and automation.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple workstreams and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
