Finance Business Partner

Artemis Human Capital are delighted to be working with a leading Law Firm in Dublin who are seeking a proactive and analytical Finance Business Partner to join their finance team. This role requires a highly commercial mindset, strong relationship management skills, and the ability to provide real-time financial insights and decision support. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving financial performance and supporting business leaders across the firm.

Requirements:

  • A third-level qualification in a relevant field; ACA/ACCA qualification preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a finance role, ideally within a professional services firm.
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and accounting skills.
  • High level of commercial and business awareness.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Adaptability, with a strong growth mindset.
  • Proven experience in building client-centric relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing detailed monthly management reports with actionable insights, comprehensive analysis, and commentary on financial performance and trends.
  • Developing robust annual and semi-annual plans and forecasts, partnering with budget holders to challenge growth objectives and validate assumptions.
  • Delivering financial insights at departmental and practice group meetings to promote understanding and alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Producing weekly operational reports (e.g., utilisation, billings, WIP, and AR), identifying key actions to address performance gaps.
  • Monitoring WIP and debtor lock-up levels, collaborating with partners to resolve performance concerns and address adverse trends.
  • Driving improvements in commercial procedures to optimise financial outcomes.
  • Cultivating strong relationships across the business to provide proactive support for financial management and strategic decision-making.
  • Conducting financial skills training sessions, enhancing teams’ understanding of project economics and promoting financial best practices.
  • Supporting the month-end billing process, offering troubleshooting assistance and stakeholder coaching.
  • Identifying opportunities for operational efficiencies, revenue growth, and cost reduction by reviewing and challenging current workflows.
  • Preparing business cases for practice group promotions and managing other ad hoc projects as required.
