The role:
In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing and collecting debt for the company’s UK and Irish entities, ensuring that credit control policies are effectively implemented and maintained. You will be the primary point of contact for credit control issues within your ledger, working closely with the cash allocation team to guarantee accurate allocation of payments and timely resolution of queries. Your role will also involve collaborating with sales teams to ensure that all invoicing data is correctly captured and reflects the necessary details for smooth processing.
Day to Day
- Check customers’ credit and approve/reject based on company policy.
- Negotiate payment plans and set up terms and conditions.
- Assist with cash forecasting
- Initiate legal proceedings if clients do not pay their bills on time, including sourcing and reviewing legal partners annually.
- Liaise with solicitors and bailiffs.
- Process the monthly Direct Debit collection run.
- Assist with month-end close and periodic requests from external accountants
The person:
- 3+ years current experience in credit control.
- Strong telephone acumen.
- Previous experience using SAP, NetSuite, or HubSpot would be a distinct advantage.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Ability to work well in a small team within a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail with effective time and task management essential to meet deadlines.
