Assistant Management Accountant
Artemis Human Capital is delighted to bring this new Assistant Management Accountant role to the market. It offers an experienced and ambitious Assistant Accountant the opportunity to join a thriving Finance team and build solid hands on management accounting experience within a busy but supportive environment.
Role Summary: As an experienced Assistant Management Accountant, you will have ownership and responsibility for key aspects of the month end process, contribute towards various reporting packs including Management Accounts as well as assisting with budgets and forecasts and all other ad hoc financial reporting. You will provide support to ensure that the day-to-day finance functions run smoothly and in a timely manner.
Role and responsibilities:
- Assist in Preparation of Management accounts using computerised accounting package (SAGE Intacct – P&L, Balance Sheet, Variance Analysis)
- Prepare/review bank reconciliations,
- Prepare weekly treasury and revenue reports & assist with cashflow forecasts.
- Reconcile Balance Sheet Accounts
- Assistance with the preparation of year end statutory accounts
- Preparation of key journals including Accruals, Prepayments etc.
- Review AP payment runs and any associated creditor queries.
- Assist with production of KPI reporting function.
- Assist with management of Fixed Assets Register in SAGE and all CAPEX expenditure.
- OPEX analysis and review of purchase orders to ensure costs are recorded correctly.
- Reconcile VAT returns to ledger and investigate any differences.
- Assist in the preparation of the year end audit file.
- Liaise with external auditors during the audit or as and when required.
- Assist in preparation of annual and monthly budgets and forecasts.
- Assist in analysis of group results and any ad hoc analysis as appropriate.
- Provide support to the payroll function as and when required.
Essential criteria:
- Part Qualified Accountant – CIMA (preferred), ACCA, ICA with AAT/IATI or relevant financial qualification/experience
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles and standards
- Experience of working to a month end timetable
- Experience working with financial software packages as well as Microsoft office particularly Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience of using computerised accounting packages
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills
- High level of numeracy and excellent attention to detail
- Deadline focused.
