Chief Financial Officer

Artemis Human Capital is successfully retained to hire an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join a thriving construction company, which operates across various sectors throughout Europe. The CFO will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for overseeing the company’s financial strategy, driving financial performance, and ensuring the implementation of robust financial systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial leadership within the construction industry, experience in mergers and acquisitions, and a proven track record of scaling businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Strategy & Leadership:
    • Develop and execute the financial strategy of the company, aligned with the overall business objectives.
    • Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO, board, and executive management team based on financial analysis and projections.
    • Lead the finance team in managing budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
    • Ensure the company’s financial health by overseeing the preparation of financial reports, managing cash flow, and implementing effective financial controls.
  2. Acquisitions & Growth:
    • Lead financial due diligence, valuation, and integration processes for potential acquisitions.
    • Collaborate with legal and operational teams to assess acquisition opportunities and risks.
    • Develop financial models to support decision-making in mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.
  3. Board Engagement & Reporting:
    • Prepare and present financial reports to the board of directors, providing insights into the company’s financial status and future outlook.
    • Engage with the board on strategic planning, risk management, and governance matters.
    • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to meet regulatory and shareholder requirements.
  4. Systems & Technology:
    • Champion the use of technology to enhance financial operations, including the implementation of advanced ERP systems and financial software.
    • Ensure the finance function is aligned with the latest industry trends and technologies.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and reduce costs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Accountant 5+ Years PQE.
  • Extensive experience as a CFO within the construction or manufacturing industries .
  • Proven track record of successful financial leadership, including experience with mergers and acquisitions.
  • Experience operating at the board level, providing strategic financial direction and insights.
  • Strong knowledge of international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and regulatory requirements across Europe.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and manage financial systems, with a keen interest in leveraging technology for business efficiency.
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
