Financial Accountant

I am delighted to be partnering with such an innovative business experiencing a period of growth. This presents a fantastic opportunity for a recently qualified accountant to join an established finance team with a clear progression plan in place.

The Financial Accountant will play a crucial role in managing and improving the financial operations of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and analyse financial statements and reports.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Perform variance analysis and provide detailed explanations for significant differences.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all closing activities.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure all transactions are properly recorded.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Oversee tax planning and compliance, including preparation and filing of tax returns.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and ensure company compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in financial operations.
  • Streamline and automate financial processes to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, CPA or CIMA.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
