As the school continues to evolve, expand and adapt to the ever-changing educational landscape, they are eager to appoint Head of Finance and Corporate Services to join the Senior Leadership Team and undertake a pivotal and strategic role.

Overview of the Role

The Head of Finance and Corporate Services will undertake a multifaceted role to include management of the school’s financial affairs, human resources and operations. The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal and the Senior Leadership Team in developing a strategic plan ensuring that the resources and organisational changes required are provided within the budgets available.

  • Manage, develop and implement a financial strategy to strengthen the financial performance and ensure the long-term financial viability of the school
  • Manage, develop and implement financial reporting, management information, financial processes and controls
  • Formulation of financial targets and budgets
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the finance team
  • Alongside the Estates Manager, manage and continuously develop the school estate, developing economic appraisals, business cases and funding applications when required.
  • Represent the school in discussions and negotiations with external funding agencies
  • Build positive relationships with colleagues and encourage open communication

The Person

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA)
  • Significant experience of budgetary control, financial accounting, preparation and presentation of financial information to board level
  • Experience of developing, procuring and delivering major capital projects
  • Proven experience of managing teams
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and inspire
  • Energetic with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
