The Role:

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for key duties to include:

  • Preparing quarterly management accounts on a contract basis for both NI and IRL entities
  • Quarterly contract analysis by job to report gross margin, to include extraction of timesheet and plant data supplied by staff & site – ensuring accurate recording within the Contract Ledger
  • Ensure accuracy and take ownership of the General Ledger for the business.
  • Responsible for accuracy of financial accounting numbers on a daily, monthly and annual basis
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required by the Finance Director
  • Posting quarterly journals
  • Preparing UK and Irish Vat returns
  • Assist FD to ensure information is submitted for Management Reporting in a timely manner to ensure consolidation deadlines are achieved,
  • Interaction with other areas of the business to improve the inputs to, and outputs from the Finance dept.
  • Working closely with and providing financial support and guidance to operational teams
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards
  • Management of the month-end and year-end accounting processes
  • Implementation of financial controls
  • Ensuring compliance with appropriate regulatory bodies
  • Management of month-end and year-end accounting processes 
  • Managing the day-to-day finance function, including mentoring of the Finance Team ensuring tasks are completed in set timeframes.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with at least 3 – 5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of accounting software and systems
  • Knowledge of project accounting and operational finance
  • Excellent knowledge and use of MS Office suite packages
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Inquisitive with an interest in investigating and digging into the numbers.
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise duties.
  • Strong level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • High level of initiative and problem solving
  • Excellent communications skills
