Operations Director (M&E)
Vaughan Engineering Services Ltd (Est. 1955) are one of NI’s longest standing and highly regarded M&E Contractors with an impressive project portfolio spanning numerous sectors across NI and GB.
Well known for undertaking demanding and often technically challenging projects across Healthcare, Education, Commercial, Pharma, Hospitality and Public Sector, and with an eye on future succession planning, they are adding to their Senior Leadership Team with the appointment of an Operations Director.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Operations Director will have accountability and responsibility for the overall day to day operations of the division and ensure that projects maintain commercial projections and that the transition from design to pre-construction, to site and project handover is seamless and efficient.
As an experienced, collaborative, and influential leader, you will guide and manage a team from across several different departments including Pre-Construction, Operations, Design and Planning; undertaking regular employee appraisals and ensuring all HR procedures are followed through. You will drive efficiencies, updating and enhancing current processes and procedures and ensure the business is operated to the highest of standards. Commercially adept you will be responsible for all departmental budgets and meeting financial targets regarding revenue, and will implement systems for reviewing costs, ensuring they are in line with targets.
You will lead all contract review meetings for projects and develop further expansion opportunities involving yourself in tender bids were required. You have an eye for detail and are highly proficient in all matters relating to HSEQ, compliance and legal matters.
You are a problem solver and lateral thinker; likely degree qualified in a relevant discipline (M&E) and have the experience and ability to manage high performing multi-disciplined teams. An able and effective communicator you can demonstrate a track record of building strong relationships with clients as well as your team. Ambitious and driven you can be both hands-on and strategic, bringing new ideas to help drive the business forward.
