Finance Director – Newly Created

Artemis Executive Search is partnering dynamic and ambitious Mid Ulster construction firm with an annual turnover of £30 million. With a clear vision to double our turnover in the next five years, our client are looking to expand their team with a strategic and experienced Finance Director.

This pivotal role is essential in driving their ambitious growth plans, including scaling the business through strategic acquisitions across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s growth objectives.
• Lead and manage the finance team, ensuring robust financial controls and processes are in place.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and analysis.
• Provide strategic financial insights to the Directors and the Board to inform decision-making.
• Manage relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, banks, and investors.
• Play a key role in identifying and executing acquisition opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and manage risk.
• Oversee the office support staff, Sales, Marketing, and HR teams, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial systems and processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Finance Director or in a similar senior finance role, preferably within the construction industry.
• Experience in M&A and integrating acquisitions.
• Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop teams.
• Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is required.
• Experience in managing marketing and HR functions is a plus.
