Its innovative, solution focused engineering capabilities including manufacturing of wind turbine generator components/ancillary equipment, sea fastenings and electrical infrastructure/power distribution design and commissioning.
With over 20 years combined experience in the renewables industry CASC are a leading name in providing novel and innovative solutions across the globe. CASC provides project management and professional labour services for the renewables sector as well as metal fabrication to the engineering, construction, and utilities sectors.
The company has expanded significantly as it has recently secured significant projects to the value of £10m.
The Role
The Company is entering an exciting growth phase and is looking for an experienced and dynamic finance leader who can help it deliver on its growth aspirations whilst ensuring there are sound financial controls in place. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Finance Director will support, challenge, and drive the executive team and will have the opportunity to help shape commercial decisions. The role will have full responsibility for the finance function as well as strategically supporting the other directors as a member of the senior leadership team. The Finance Director will need to be comfortable operating within a dynamic and fast paced environment and be able to blend hands-on activities as needed with the strategic challenges of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Fiduciary Control: Full responsibility for the financial position of the business. Including day to day operational finance and cash management.
- Ensure all financial and taxation regulations affecting the group are complied with across all jurisdictions.
- Responsible for establishing new operations and entities overseas and complying with the regulations pertaining to the jurisdiction.
- Financial Decision-Making: Accountable for financial planning and performance. This includes preparing monthly management accounts, business forecasts and the annual budget with the Managing Director.
- Report on profitability of projects against budget and any variance in margins. This will involve close collaboration with the commercial director and other teams.
- Ensure adequate systems and financial controls are implemented and sustained to fulfil reporting and governance requirements in every company of the group.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Accountable for compliance functions across the business including risk management, financial reporting, policies, and coordinating .
- Business Model Development: Responsible for driving a financial lens into the development of new business and identifying internal and external risks.
- Business Planning and Strategy: Support the Board of Directors by aligning with overall company strategy and providing financial insight into long-term decision-making for the business
- Present financial management information and analysis to the Directors non-financial stakeholders.
- Fundraising: You will be responsible to support the CEOs in raising funds, and evaluating fundraising plans and the capital structure of the Business.
- Team: Building and developing a finance team who are competent in all the required areas.
The Person
- Previous experience working as a Finance Director or Financial Controller+ within an SME
- Technically qualified and accredited (e.g. ACA, CGMA, ACCA, or CFA).
- Experience of working in a scaling business and a proven track record of driving positive performance
- Experience reviewing commercial contracts and identifying risk
- Experience with ERP and driving operational efficiencies via the use of MI reporting
- Experience in M&A is desirable.
- Experience working with R&D tax credits and EU/UK grants.
- Fundraising experience.
- Experience within engineering, construction, or renewables highly desirable
- Self-starter who is capable of motivating others.
