Project Manager- DNO Energy Strategy Funding Projects

Artemis Executive search is delighted to have been retained by firmus energy as they seek to recruit a Project Manager – DNO Energy Strategy Funding Projects, a role that further underlines the commitment to sustainability and targeted pathway to net zero.

The Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) (Evolve, firmus energy and Phoenix Energy) and the Transmission System Operators (GNI(UK) and Mutual Energy)– have established a pathway to decarbonise the NI Gas Network by 2050.

To support this pathway, they have developed a number of targeted research projects to advance their preparations to accommodate large volumes of renewable gas into existing gas infrastructure.

As Project Manager (DNO Energy Strategy Funding Projects), you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the development and implementation of these research projects on behalf of the three Distribution Network Operators; taking proposed projects from initial design and identification of appropriate research partners through business case approval with the Utility Regulator (UR) and Department for the Economy (DfE) and into full execution.

You will work closely with the Distribution Network Operators ensuring full representation in the development and delivery of these projects is reflected in every project undertaken.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone keen to lead on priority projects for the renewable gas sector in Northern Ireland.

You are an excellent communicator with the ability to build positive relationships with key stakeholders and have extensive experience in Project Management, delivering projects within timescale and budgets.

You are competent in analysing and interpreting policy and economic/technical considerations relevant to a policy environment or regulated sector. You are a keen problem solver who can manage multiple workflows and prioritise competing requirements.

Results-oriented you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and ideally have a recognised certification in Project Management (e.g. PRINCE2);. It would also be advantageous if you had experience in successfully securing funding from regulatory bodies as well as knowledge, involvement in or transferable skills related to working in the energy industry and the regulatory environment in Northern Ireland.
