Newly Qualified Accountant

We are working with a fast-growing and innovative business who have recently secured new funding and are now looking to expand their finance function with the addition of a Newly Qualified Accountant. The person can come from any discipline – audit, tax, corporate finance, restructuring, etc.

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this role will play a key part in delivering high-quality financial reporting, ensuring statutory compliance, while strengthening internal controls, contributing to commercial projects, and supporting the ongoing development of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts and support year-end close, including group consolidations

• Maintain the general ledger and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations

• Prepare and submit VAT, corporation tax packs, and HMRC compliance returns

• Support FP&A activities including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

• Produce cashflow reporting and rolling cashflow forecasts

• Maintain the fixed asset register, including depreciation and disposals

• Prepare management accounts, KPIs, and financial analysis for senior management

• Partner with operational teams to support financial planning and decision-making

• Act as primary contact for external auditors and audit deliverables

• Improve financial controls, processes, and reporting accuracy

• Support ad hoc finance projects and analytical tasks

Who We’re Looking For

• Qualified Accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Strong technical accounting knowledge
• High level of competency with accounting software and Excel
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• A diligent, proactive and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, growing environment
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with non-financial stakeholders
