As a result of continued success and with a strong pipeline of work, they are eager to appoint a Financial Controller to join their Commercial and Industrial Division based in Ballinamallard, County Fermanagh.
Reporting to the local Finance Director, the role will suit a qualified accountant with strong technical and analytical skills and experience of working in industry. The ideal candidate will also be able to demonstrate that they are a progressive thinker who can drive improvements in the company’s reporting processes and internal control procedures. This role will suit a hands-on accountant with strong commercial and analytical skills.
The Role:
- Monthly management accounts and variance analysis for submission to both the Company’s board of directors and the Group finance team for incorporation in the Group’s consolidated accounts
- Compile required data for budget and quarterly forecasting based on current contract performance, factory capacity loading, cost trends, pipeline of future contracts
- Work closely with the Finance Director in managing and forecasting the company cashflow
- Analyse and comment on KPIs including any significant variance to prior year, budgets and expected values
- Monitor & review the appropriate internal control systems of the company
- Provide strong commercial input and support on a range of strategic and operational issues
- Ensure that all statutory reporting deadlines and requirements are met, including liaison with company auditors
- Identify issues that may affect the financial performance of the Company
- Train, mentor and motivate other members of the Finance Department
- Manage statutory returns to HMRC and Irish Revenue, such as VAT returns, RCT returns, intrastat returns
- Monthly continuous improvement monitoring and reporting
The Person:
- Accountancy Qualification from a recognised accountancy body e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA
- Minimum of 2 years experience within industry
- Experience of managing and leading a finance team
- Knowledge and prior experience of complex finance systems
- Excellent understanding of accounting processes and controls
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
- Commercial awareness
