Legionella Risk Assessor
Artemis Human Capital is delighted to be assisting our client who have provided specialist scientific services across a portfolio of public and private clients within the UK and Ireland as they seek to appoint a Legionella Risk Assessor.
The Role
The successful applicant will join a leading team of experienced professionals who work across a multitude of private and public sector clients in providing innovative and enhanced utility services.
You will be required to undertake the following duties:
- Conducting Legionella Risk Assessments within a public sector portfolio of clients
- Assisting in the delivery of commercial contracts
- Creation of thorough, detailed reports regarding temperature checks, and auditing of water systems
- Provision of subsequent reports to required internal/external audiences
- Travelling to client sites in the region as required using company transport that will be provided upon commencement of the position
- Communication with clients both verbal and written correspondence in a professional manner
Education and Experience
To be considered for this position, applicants much be able to demonstrate the following skills and experiences:
- At least 2 years’ experience in assessing hot and cold systems
- Qualified through Water Management Society, City & Guilds, BOHS or equivalent
- Full UK Driving License
- Competent in generating professional reports using Microsoft office
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
You will also need knowledge of the following:

- HSE document HSG274 Part 1 - The control of legionella bacteria in evaporative cooling systems
- HSE document HSG274 Part 2 - The control of legionella bacteria in hot and cold-water systems
- HSE document HSG274 Part 3 - The control of legionella bacteria in other risk systems
- BS 8580-1: 2019 Water Quality- Risk Assessments for Legionella control- Code of Practice
- Health Technical Memorandum 04-01: The control of Legionella, hygiene, “safe” hot water, cold water, and drinking water systems. Part A: Design, installation, and testing. Part B: Operational management
- Health Technical Memorandum 04-01: Addendum Pseudomonas aeruginosa – advice for augmented care units
