General / Operations Manager – Growing Food Manufacturer

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to join their team and drive operational efficiency across all departments. This would be an excellent opportunity for someone coming from a Production Manager looking to take a step up.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

  • Oversee the daily operations of all departments, including Office, Kitchen, Warehouse, High Care, and Technical.
  • Ensure seamless coordination and communication between departments.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Continuously evaluate operations to identify areas for enhancement.

Efficiency Management:

  • Create and maintain efficiency in all aspects of operations to ensure maximum productivity and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational excellence.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage and mentor department managers and supervisors to foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Promote professional development and training opportunities for team members.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure all products meet the highest standards of quality and safety in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and maintain rigorous quality control procedures.

Inventory Management:

  • Oversee inventory control and supply chain management to ensure timely procurement and distribution of materials.
  • Optimize inventory levels to balance cost and availability.

Financial Oversight:

  • Assist in budget preparation and financial reporting, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising quality.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions as needed.

Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with the Director on strategic initiatives to drive growth and expand market presence.
  • Develop and implement long-term operational strategies.

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, with a strong emphasis on food safety standards and practices.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and implement necessary changes.

Customer Focus:

  • Maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders, addressing any operational issues that may arise.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through efficient and reliable operations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in an operations management role within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards and regulatory requirements.
